Track and field training in France (1945-1970): art, science and technique
Abstract
Este trabalho propõe um olhar da história sobre o treinamento em treinamento em atletismo, tendo como propósito esclarecer uma das problemáticas centrais no desenvolvimento de suas concepções e práticas: a relação ambígua e tensa entre os conhecimentos científicos e as concepções de treinamento ou, mais precisamente, entre cientistas e treinadores. Após a Segunda Guerra Mundial, observa-se uma tensão muito forte entre os conhecimentos teóricos de natureza científica e as práticas de treinamento, situação que pode ser explicada por vários fatores, tais como: as mentalidades e as representações da “ciência”, as instituições e o poder entre treinadores e cientistas, assim como o desenvolvimento insuficiente das ciências do esporte.
This article is focused on track and field training history to study one of the central problems on the development of training conceptions and implementations: the ambiguous and strained relations between scientific knowledge and conceptions of training, and more exactly between trainers and scientists. After World War II, there is a strong tension between the theoretical scientific knowledge and the training practices. This situation can be explained by different factors: the mentalities and the perception of science, the institutional context and the clash of interest between trainers and scientists, and the deficient development of sport sciences.
